November Mama Message

“We must eradicate from the soul all fear and terror of what comes towards man out of the future. We must acquire serenity in all feelings and sensations about the future…And let us seek the awakening from within ourselves, every morning and every evening.”

- Rudolf Steiner

As we head into November I am reflecting on the past ten months of 2021 with huge gratitude, and with hope for our future. It has been a year of challenges and great change. I am grateful for you… all of my family and friends, who continue to show up to support, encourage, and engage with openness and compassion. You never cease to question, research, and grow together, and to strive for a more healthy and balanced life for yourself and your families.

In looking at this past year we can’t help but think about the challenges and losses, and it is important to acknowledge these.  However… I am taking time now to appreciate the positive changes that are occurring.  For me personally it has been a huge year with the sale of our home in Northern California, and with the acceptance that we are now officially Montanans.  I am grateful for a beautiful home near two of my children and three of my grandchildren.  I love the natural beauty here, and the respect and openness of a community of many diverse individuals.  I am grateful for freedom to live a life of choice, and to continue to pursue the activities and occupations that I love.

This is a time where people are truly looking at what matters for them, and it is an opportunity for us to step into making the world a place where all people are accepted and honored for exactly who they are.  At times when I feel discouraged or overwhelmed, I realize that we are here for a reason right now.  We need to continue to gather strength to face whatever may lie ahead, and to stay open, compassionate, and loving towards all.  We can lead by example, and we can continue to engage, converse, and appreciate many different points of view.

At my home I am surrounded by forests of aspen and evergreens, including Douglas fir trees.  The Douglas Fir is a tree whose scent inspires us, and connects us to the earth.  Its essential oil is one of generational wisdom.  I find myself thinking of my ancestors, and all the gifts that they have passed down to me.   I invite you to take some time this month to think about gratitude, and to let the people that you love know how much you care.

Have a wonderful month!

Warmly,
Maria

We must eradicate from the soul
all fear and terror of what
comes towards man
out of the future.
We must acquire serenity
in all feelings and sensations
about the future.

We must look forward
with absolute equanimity
to everything that may come.
And we must think only that
whatever comes is given to us
by a world-directive
full of wisdom.

It is part of what we
must learn in this age,
namely, to live out of pure
trust, without any security
in existence.
Trust in the ever present
help of the spiritual world.

Truly, nothing else will do
if our courage is not to fail us.

And let us seek the awakening
from within ourselves,
every morning
and every evening.

- Rudolf Steiner
